As tradition dictates, the second half of the calendar year for the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF) began with the Shumen Cup tournament. The competition was open to participants of all ages – from the youngest karatekas, boys and girls as young 8 years old, to juniors up to 18 years old and youths, as well as men and women with a rank no higher than 7th kyu (blue belt with a stripe) and who have participated in no more than three tournaments. The tournament was specifically organized for less experienced competitors, with the main goal being for them to gain valuable experience. Veterans, both men and women, in an open category were also included.
A total of 260 competitors from 30 clubs, all members of the BKKF, competed in different categories. The team cup was deservedly won by SC “Okami Dojo” from Asenovgrad. In the top 5 clubs with the most medals following Asenovgrad were SC “Nihonto” from Varna, SC “Yunak” from Ruse, the hosts from SKC “Kyokushin – Shumen”, and SC “Doichev 2020” from Yambol.
The Shumen Cup tournament was held on October 5th at the MSA “Arena Shumen”, with BKKF, SKC “Kyokushin – Shumen“ serving as hosts.
