Which fighters won the medals?
A total of 4 champion titles, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals – that is the result of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF) karateka at the KWF European Kyokushin Championship in Poland. The event took place on the 13th and 14th of October as on the first day the tatami was arena for junior male and female fighters.
Friday 13th turned out to be a lucjy day and brought the first three European titles for the BKKF – Mirela Lyubenova, Nikola Kyuchukov and Ivan Popov won gold medals in their categories for junior male and female. Silver medals went to Plamena Yakimova and Vasil Dimitrov and bronze medals were awarded to Valeria Lozanova, Lachezar Plachorov and Aleksandar Aleksiev.
During the second day of the KWU championship Lyubomira Nikolova became European Champion in senior female and Christian Stankov – vice champion in senior men. Christian Doychev, Angel Vetsov and Pavel Kachamakov won bronze medals.
The titles of Lyubomira Nikolova and Christian Stankov are great achievements for them because they both had their day view in senior categories. In less than an year Lyubomira attained three very important titles. Earlier this year she became the KWU European Campion in category girls, senior age in December. In March Christian Stankov became the KWU European Champion in category boys, senior age and now he was very close to reaching the top spot.
