Yet another great recognition for the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF) came from the Kyokushin World Cup (KWF) in Astana, Kazakhstan. With a fierce competition amongst 600 competitors from 27 countries our fighters come home with a gold and a silver!
An all-Bulgarian final in women, up to 65 kg, was formed by Mirela Lyubenova and Valeria Lozanova. Mariela came on top and took the title.
On their way to the top ladder they eliminated 3 competitors each, amongst which one could spot representatives of Kazakhstan, Russia, Tunisia and France. The forum took place on November 3rd and 4th in Astana, but the BKKF sent its delegation from the start of the month. The team for this World Cup was formed by six fighters – four men and two women. Our National Team was led by its coached – Zahari Damyanov and Zhivko Andreev. The team also had his dedicated doctor – Stoyan Stamatov.
Our delegation comes to Sofia today at 21:35 hours with a flight from Moscow.
In parallel to the success in Kazakhstan, the karateka train extra hard for the two largest karate kyokushin forums, which are due between the 7th and the 9th of December at the Palace of Culture and Sport in Varna. The BKKF and the Kyokushin World Union (KWU) are hosting the second European Championship for men, women and veterans and the sixth world championship of juniors. The attendance will be free of charge.
