A total of 12 medals and 4 championships for Bulgaria – that is the result from this year’s Cadet competition Varna Cup 2018. It took place on July 3rd within the 12th annual karate kyokushin training camp under the patronage of the BKKF and KWU in Kamchia.
139 competitiors aged between 18 and 21 took part of the event as they were divided into 12 categories. The champion titles went to Victoria Naskova (cat. -50 kg), Ia Kostova (-55 kg), Donika Zhelyazkova (-65 kg) and Cristian Stankov (-75 kg) who also did receive the special “Fighting Spirit” prize.
The Bulgarian teamgot hold of three more silver medals and five bronzes. The silver went to Lyubomira Nikolova (-65 kg), Stilyan Petkov (-65 kg) and Stoyan Ilchev (-70 kg), and the prestigious bronze medal was handed to: Valeria Lozanova (-55 kg), Mariela Lyubenova (-65 kg), Nikola Kyuchukov ( -75 kg), Lachezar Palachorov ( -80 kg), Vilin Lekov (-80 kg).
The Cadet championship Varna Cup 2018 is only one of the special events, planned for the training camp of the BKKF and the KWU in Kamchia. For second year in a row the camp will offer spectacular battles during the professional’s tournament Grand Prix 2018. This event starts today, July 4th, at 14:00 hours.
On the tatami we will see contestants from Bulgaria and Russia. In category up to 60 kg the two karateka are Dilyan Nikolov and Sergo Armenyan and up to 80 kg – Georgi Doychev and Victor Belyaev.
