The Bogoyavlenie traditions are beautifully alive in the heart of Strandja. The cross was saved in the waters of the Dokuzak waterfall, which is located near the Stoilovo village, for the second year in a row.
The European Kyokushin champion Kristiyan Stankov took out the cross. The big champion threw himself in the ice-cold waters for the second year and he was the fastest.
“I jumped because of my father Yordan’s name day and I took the cross out because of him”, shared the champion with a smile. He is part of the national team of Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation.
There was a traditional Bulgarian dance, called horo in the waterfall’s waters, which shows that the traditions in Strandja have a specific energy.
