The fighter of SC “Kyokushin” Tsvetan Urumov was named Athlete №1 in the traditional poll of the Municipality of Shoumen. The karate fighter with coach Daniel Dimitrov won the vote of sixteen sports clubs and four media in the city with his fifth place at the European Fully Contact Karate Championship in Antwerp (Belgium) at the beginning of the year. Urumov also won first place at the National Championship for men and women – kumite in Sofia, as well as the title of the National Tournament “Madara Horseman” for men and women in Shumen.
Traditionally, martial arts have a dozen more representatives among the local top 10.
After Tsvetan Urumov are Nikola Nikolov (kickboxing) and Dimitar Stoyanov (kickboxing), who are proud representatives of the strong SC “Shumen Fortress”. Besides them, Atanas Georgiev (karate SKK “Kyokushin-Shumen”) and Yanko Yankov (MMA) are in the lead for 2020.
The best in sports were awarded in the building of the Municipality of Shoumen personally by the mayor Lyubomir Hristov.
Due to the pandemic measures, the ceremony was held without audiences and media.
