It was more than 50 people that took part in the autumn referee seminar of the BKKF between the 9th and 11th of September, which was hosted by karate kyokushin club “Kyokushin” – city of Shumen.

The first day was dedicated to theory as the drill was to refresh memory on main situations from the official rulebook. The discussion focused on the different aspects of refereeing in international organizations.

The second day started with a climb of the 1300 stirs to the monument “Founders of the Bulgarian State” and after that the practical training began with reviews of close calls from past competitions. All referees stepped on the tatami and led a few improvised matchups each. This was courtesy to the karateka of the sports club “Kyokushin” – city of Shumen, who went on for an hour of sparring pretending it was a real competition.

In the evening there was an unplanned general assembly of the BKKF members who voted three new clubs in. These are: SC “Nihonto” – city of Varna, headed by Zahari Damyanov, SC “Kyokushinkan – Nesebar” – town of Nesebar headed by Tihomir Petrov and Georgi Vasilev and SC “Dojo” – town of Silistra headed by Stanimir Mihalev. With the newly admitted members, the count of clubs at the BKKF reached 42.
