The National Tournament of Kyokushin Karate for men, women, juniors and children in junior and senior age for kata and kumite categories that took place in the town of Stara Zagora and is co-hosted by the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation and Sports Kyokushin Karate Club “Axen” Stara Zagora and the municipality of Stara Zagora has come to an end.

Today on the tatami we saw over 150 contestants coming from 29 clubs.

We were amazed by the participants in our national karate team, but all other contestants also gave their very best to prove their skill.

This competition is sort of a general selection for the upcoming Japan Open Championship for senior men and women, as well as for junior men and women.

The special prizes were awarded to:

Technical skill prize for juniors: Nikola Kyuchukov from “TIM” Varna and Mirela Lyubenova from “Kyokushin” Levski.

Fighting spirit prize: Christian Barbov from “Ipon” Ruse and Plamena Yakimova from “Hikari” Tryavna.

In senior men and women the technique prize goes to Krasimira Mireva from “Shogun” Sofia and to Christian Doychev “Kyokushin” Yambol. The fighting sprit prize went to Martina Hadzhiiska from “Satori” Samokov and Christian Stoynov – “Fighters NSA” Sofia. The “Vereya” cup was awarded to Martina Hadzhiiska from “Satori” Samokovand to Dimitar Dimitrov from “Kyokushin” Shumen. Mirela and Nikola won 3 gold medals each this day – 1 in kumate and 2 in kata in different age groups.
