Stanislava Boycheva fought her way to the absolute champion title.
The competitors of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF) are returning to Bulgaria with a grand total of 6 medals and one international recognition in the world of kyokushin karate.
The country of the rising sun hosted, during the last weekend, a couple of big tournaments – the World Championship in Kata and Kumite for juniors, Kyokushin-kan and the All Japan tournament in absolute male and female category.
In the very first day – Saturday, the effort of our karateka led to success. After tough matches with fighters from Japan and South Africa, Stanislava Boycheva from Burgas became the absolute world champion of the All Japan Tournament. This title represents huge international recognition in the world of kyokushin karate.
In the same day, the world championship of kata came to an end giving Valeria Lozanova the bronze medal.
The second day was also very fruitful for the Bulgarian team. Vasil Dimitrov won the gold medal in the heaviest category and Yani Krastev got the bronze medal. Valentin Valchanov and Mirela Lyubenova were very close to winning their final matches, but nevertheless took their place as vice-champins. Valeria Lozanova managed to fight her way to one more prize in Japan as she won the bronze medal in kumite category.
National team coaches sensei Zahari Damyanov and sempai Stanislava Boycheva found our national team’s participation at All Japan as very successful and commented that we were even closer to getting more medals. This competition was the last one for juniors this year.
Male and Female teams have one more big tournament until the end of the year – the World Championship of Kyokushin World Union (KWU). This forum will be held in Russa on the 9th and 10th of December.
Our karateka are already on their way back to Bulgaria, which means we expect them to be at Sofia Airport tomorrow morning around 8:50 am.
