Yesterday we witnessed the second day of the training camp and referee seminar hosted by the KWU ad the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation in the city of Varna.
The day started with referee seminar by KWU, which was headed by shihan Ramil Gabbasov with the aid of shihan Asen Asenov and sensei Alexandr Pitchkounov.
After that it was time for a big and very strong training session with fighters from Bulgaria, Russia and Blearus, which was under the supervision of sensei Alexandr Pitchkounov and sensei Zahari Damyanov. The session featured sensei Sergey Plehanov who aided relentlessly all participants and demonstrated his high skill level by holding his ground against active competitors.
Sensei Zahari Damyanov, who is the senior coach of the national kyokushin karate team, gave an interview for our colleagues from “Chero More” where he disclosed some information on the purpose of this camp and what is to come.
“This is a collaborative camp – meeting of Bulgaria, Russia and Belarus national teams. We have distinct guests from Russia – two legendary fighters. Sensei Pitchkounov is the secretary general of the KWU, winner of world championships with no categories, and has participated in K-1 and ICHIGEKI matches. Sensei Plehanov is also an international championship prize winner. Also, with an invitation from the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation we have shihan Ramil Gabbasov, who is here to read a seminar on refereeing”, said sensei Zahari Damyanov.
Sensei Damyanov also added that this camp is to “get set”, because the big tournaments are just about to get started.
“We shall begin with the National nompetition at Stara Zagora, then it is time for Japan Open and preparation for the European Championship. Here we have all of our representatives – extended male and female teams as well as juniors”, ended the statement of sensei Damyanov.
