The participation of Bulgaria in the European karate Kyokushin championship of KWU for boys and girls, which was held during the weekend in Berlin, Germany with one European title and the overall of 19 medals. Our country was presented by 63 karatekas and the many honors solidified our leading role in this sport.

One golden, 8 silver and 10 bronze medals are the balance of Bulgaria from the championship of the Old continent, in which 411 karatekas from 26 countries participated from the age groups of 12-13 years old, 14-15 years old, and 16-17 years old.

Plamena Yakimova won the European golden honor. She fought the competition within the 16-17 years old in the category 55 kg.

The crew, which is led by the training team – Sensei Zahari Damyanov, Sensei Jivko Andreev, Sensei Hristo Hristov, and Sampei Alexandra Marinova are coming back today at 13:20 with a flight from Berlin.
