The karateka with the team of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF) won 5 championships at the European Championship for Junior – Kumite in Berlin.

Mirela Lyubenova, Kristian Stankov, Viktoria Naskova, Lyubomira Nikolaeva and Valeria Lozanova became European Kyokushin Karate Champions.

For the second prize our team produced Maria Chepilova and Martina Hadzhiiska . The bronze medals went to Kristian Barbov, Dimitar Dimitrov, Ivan Popov, Valentin Valchanov, Velizar Gospodinov and Plamena Yakimova. Mirela Lyubenova and Martina Hadzhiiska met at the final.

“We are very happy that once more our karateka win top prizes in a prestigious tournament. The competition was fierce, but we came in with excellent preparation and the result is overwhelming – 13 medals”, said sensei Zhivko Andreev.

Except the championships, Lyubomira Nikolaeva and Kristian Stankov received the fighting spirit prizes.

After a week there is another big kyokushin tournament – the KWF World Championship in Japan. It will take place between the 25th and the 26th of March in Tokyo.
