The first competition from the autumn season in the calendar of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation had a lot of serious interest and perfect organization. In Veliko Turnovo, the traditional national karate tournament was held for the Cup “Carevec”. The competition was officially open from the city’s mayor Danail Panov.
The tournament was in the discipline “kumite” for kids till 12 and 14 years old. Applications were filed by 22 clubs from the country. 141 competitors took part in the tournament. The categories, in which the native talents were tested, were 21.
In addition to the awards for the prize places, the organizers also gave two special prizes – for “Fighting Spirit”. Gencho Vutev from club “Shampion”, the city of Purvomai, took it from the boys. Demetra Manolova from “Katana” Veliko Turnovo, took it from the girls.
The next big competition within the teenagers is on the 13th of October in Novi Pazar, Shumen area. Cup “Omaya” for kids till 8 and 10 years old will be held there.
