The training camp which is under the patronage of the BKKF and the KWU starts on July 1st and will continue until July 8th

Over 1400 professional karateka, competitors, instructors and coaches of kyokushin karate from 30 states will visit Bulgaria for one of the largest martial arts training camps in the World. The event kicks off on July 1st and will continue up to July 8th. This year is no exception and Kamchia resort will be the host of this grand event, which is hosted by both the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF) and the Kyokushin World Union (KWU).

The training camp is stationed at the Sports and Healthcare Complex “Kamchia” and will offer a very diverse programme. Things will be started with a referee seminar, weigh-in for the karateka and two football tournaments on July 2nd. The same day will feature the first set of intense double training sessions. On the very nex day, July 3rd, we will see one of the most anticipated events of the entire camp – the cadet championship KWU Varna Cup 2018. The trophies and medals will be distributed amongst the best karateka at the age between 18 and 21.

For second year in a row the camp will also offer spectacular fights during the professional’s tournament Grand Prix 2018. On July 4th we will see professionals from Bulgaria and Russia. In the category up to 60 kg Dilyan Nikolov and Sergo Armenyan will try their skills, and up to 80 kg we will see Georgi Doychev and Viktor Belyaev.

This year’s camp will be graced by the presence of many famous names from the world of Kyokushin karate, amongst which one can spot the leaders of the KWU. Some of them are Kancho Hatsuo Royama, Director of Kyokushin-kan International Honbu (9 dan), Shihan Andrzej Drewniak (9 dan), Shihan Davit Pithole (7 dan), Shihan Ramil Gabassov (5 dan), Sensei Alexandr Pitchkounov – Secretary General of the KWU (4 dan). The officials from the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation are Shihan Asen Asenov (5 dan) – Member of the Board of BKKF, Sensei Nikolay Rachev (5 dan) – National Representative of the BKKF, Sensei Stoyan Dimov (4 dan) – Executive Director of the Federation and Sensei Tihomir Atanasov (4 dan) –  Member of the Board of BKKF.
