This Sunday the city Stara Zagora was the host of the state karate kyokushin (kumite and kata) championship for men, women, boys, and girls, which was organized by the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation. The competition was held in the sports hall of the Disc Storage Factory (DSF) with free entrance. Forty-nine men and women participants from 22 clubs measured forces in 11 categories. The number of youngsters was two times bigger – 104 fighters from 204 clubs and their categories were 21. The chief judge of the competition was sheehan Asen Asenov.
An interesting moment from the competition was the participation of two fighters in two age groups. Ivan Georgiev and Viktoriya Naskova measured forces within the youngsters and the adults and respectively within men and women. They managed to win titles in both categories.

For “the most technical competitor”– Atanas Georgiev (Shumen) and Nikol Harizanova from “Ronin” (Plovdiv)
For “fighting spirit”- Stefan Ivanov from “Ipon” (Ruse) and Hristiyana Dimitrova from “Katana” (Veliko Turnovo)
Man/women:
For “the most technical competitor”– Vasil Igantov from “Ipon” (Ruse) and Victoriya Naskova from “Stihya” (Novi Pazar)
For “fighting spirit”- Ivan Georgiev from “Kyokushin” (Pavlikeni) and Martina Hadjiiska from “Satori” (Samokov)
On Saturday, 13th of April in the sports hall “Mladost” in Burgas the State Championship for kids from 8 to 10 years old will be held. During May the youth state team of Bulgaria will participate in the Second European Championship of KWU in Germany.
