It is one hour ago that the training camp and referee seminar of KWU in the city of Varna have ended.
During the past three days there was a multitude of trainings featuring top fighters from Russia and Belarus even with one of the biggest names in international Kyokushin – namely sensei Alexandr Pitchkounov who is the newly elected secretary general of the KWU and sensei Zahari Damyanov as the strongest impression was that except Bulgarian fighters, Damyanov was approached by fighters from Russia and Belarus as well both for professional advice and photographs. This event did not pass without the participation of sensei Soyan Dimov.
One of the distinct coaches was sense Sergey Plehanov who is an integral part of the Russian team and is always intensely participating in training and shows time and time again that even the non-competing sportsman holds his ground against any fighter.
Today, during the sensei seminar, we were able to see shihan Marin Mitev – chairman of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation who joined all activities with great desire.
After that we saw the last referee seminar within these 3 days as many of the rules were discussed, there were a lot of examples and all experienced and novice referees were able to ask questions and receive the correct answers from shihan Ramil Gabbasov, who was the seminar lecturer, as well as from shihan Asen Asenov, sensei Nikolay Rachev and sensei Andreyan Ivanov.
In an interview for our colleagues at “Cherno More” shihan Ramil Gabbasov offered some heart-warming words for the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation – “BKKF is № 1 in hosting large events.”
“An important goal during training camps is to train referees. If refereeing is bad, then the fighters will also sag in performance, since they will not be awarded according to their endeavor. Therefore, the referee must not break any rules and always be strict. There will be changes naturally. Until the world championship in December we will correct the rulebook through meetings with the heads of international organizations. This will not affect the coaches and the preparation of competitors. Bulgarian referees are also on the level and have their objectivity. They could be an example of knowledge and preparation.” said shihan Gabbasov.
“There are winter camps in Russia and other countries. These events are focused on fighters exchanging experience. This raises their level of ability and contributes to the overall development of kyokushin. Next year I hope to see an extended camp – like the one in Kamchia. In my opinion Bulgaria is № 1 in hosting not only training camps, but also any other events. During the summer one could see over 1000 fighters and sensei who exercise different techniques. Furthermore, kyokushin is a great education tool since it enhances the respect and culture in human relations” is the firm conclusion of shihan Gabbasov.
